Suspension bumpstop question
i recently changed up my suspension set up to tokico blues with ground controls and i heard that you didnt need the bumpstops anymore with the ground controls and if u do leave them on they make terrible squeeking noises?
I dont know much about this setup but I have never heard of removing the bump stop completely. I would say cut the bump stop in half if anything. They are there for a reason.
Yes, you still want your bumpstops or it could damage something when you bottom it out. Generally on a lowered car though, OEM bumpstops are too long, and you'll be hitting them constantly, causing a rough ride.
At least on my koni reds, the directions say to trim 35mm from the bottom, which is almost halfway. I think that's a good place to start.

Nice! It is good to see more people doing this. I did mine last summer and I did cut to the instructions specifications from Ground Control. And the person above ^ is correct if you bottom out with no bumpstop your going to be replacing your strut/shock again. I don't notice any squeeking but even if that was the case I would rather deal with that rather than buying a new shock/strut, lubrication also helps.
