Default Swapped P72 ECU w/Hondata S200 chip into a P30 ECU w/Hondata S200 now engine light on

I have a P72 ECU with Hondata S200 and had it tuned to run my ls/vtec.

A friend has a P30 ecu with Hondata S200 and I wanted to see if it was working, so I took my chip from my ecu and put it in his ecu, now the check engine light is on, but its the ABS light flashing.

is there any differences between the P72 and P30 that that would cause the check engine light to come on?

also, the car is idling at 2000rpms when it usually idles at 1200.

any ideas what the issue would be?

Check the Malfunction Indication Code. If the code is solid with & without the service connector jumped, you did not properly install the chip/s200.

What do you mean?

He is some more information:

I put the chip back in my known good working P72 w/s200 and its works perfect like it has been doing. I then substitute my friends blue box for my blue box and the red light on his blue box is blinking but the car won't rev past 4000.

When his P30 ECU is installed with my blue box, the red light is just on and not blinking, but the check engine light is on and the car again won't rev past 4000.

Sounds like you may not be dealing with 2 s200, but one s200 and one older staged system. What are the serial numbers of the 2 systems in question?

I will PM you the serial numbers when I get home. Can you PM me your phone number, only if you'd like.

I know my S200 works fine because that's what I've been using and what my engine was tuned on by Jim at Motorvations.

This other S200 unit is one I traded for last night. I figured I could test it by putting my chip in the ecu to see if it would run my car fine, but it didnt.

I will pm you the info in the next hour.

A 2nn is an old staged system and will not work with a s200 bin file.

Alright good to know. But the staged system is still good and any Hondata tuner with S200 tuning capabilities can tune using it correct?

What did they officially call it the staged system?

Some Hondata dealers may be able and some may not...it is a system which has not been sold for about 5 years and is no longer supported. You may be better off upgrading to the s300.

I already have the S200 and its working fine. I just picked up the staged system in a trade and going to sell it.

Do you happen to know what options the staged system has? I PM'd you the serial number. Does it have the boost option?
