Help! Diy headgasket!?
i overheated, all my coolant came out, and i had to drive and stop and drive to get home. now i have white smoke coming out of my exhaust. Just got my new OEM headgasket in today and i am going to be doing it myself. Its a b16a but i am worried about my timing after i put it back together. any tips? does anybody have a write up for a b16? thanks
i have been looking everywhere. half my sensors are already unplugged. i found a d-series write up. but i heard on a b-series you have to pull your cams. i really need to get this car back up and running its my only form of transportation. i have to take my moms car and its getting annoying. i miss my vtec already =[.

and you will reset all of your timing anyway when you replace the head gasket. read the shop manual and you will learn a lot. and make sure you have good enough tools for the job when you change the gasket. you will need a good 1/2" drive ratchet/breaker bar with a 14mm socket (i think 6 point) for the head bolts if you want to make the job fast.

You may want to consider getting a new thermostat while you are at it.
It's common for the thermostat to get damaged internally after overheating.

if you can find it online, its a vtec supplement manual for 90 crx with b16a. that one will be extremely close to your car, and therefore is the most helpful.
edit: it may be at this site, but my internet is slower than snails so i cant confirm right now
