Question about swapping out Brake Master Cylinder
I remember there being a 15/16" brake master cylinder that you could swap in to an EG chassis, to replace the 7/8" thats in the vehicle stock. Can anyone confirm this, and what vehicle had the interchangable 15/16" brake master cylinder?
And I remember the 1" being available, but brake lines going to the brake master cylinder needing to be altered, and the 15/16" being a straight swap.

You are thinking of a 1991 Civic EX master cylinder....B18C5-EH2 is the one that figured this out...search his old threads.
The Integra RS one isn't a direct bolt on. You want 91 EX

Yes, from a couple of sources actually, I very specifically remember B18C5-EH2s post, I think he started the thread too actually, specifically to say that it works. Its also mentioned in Honda Engine Swaps by Aaron Bonk IIRC.
You can use an Integra 15/16 non ABS MC if you use the corresponding brake booster. I have personally used this setup before.
Why can't you use the Integra MC on a civic booster? The mounting flange is flipped around 180 degrees.

I can confirm this on a 94 Si without ABS. I wanted a firmer pedal so I went with the 15/16 from a 91 civic. It was a long time ago, but I am pretty sure it had to be an EX Sedan. It was a direct bolt on, brake pedal was much more firm.

They are not from a teg, unless you want to switch your brake booster to a teg. The bolt patterens are opposite. Use 1991 Civic EX SEDAN master cyl. I just did my brake upgrade to full teg brakes SS lines powerslot rotors. Im about 91.475% sure that its the one from the sedan. And yes it is the 15/16 I noticed a huge difference.

superbean... why would you recommend the oe booster and 91 ex master cyl, over a matched integra booster and master cyl? Any particular reason?

streetracin, it would be almost the same thing , just that you would spend less
just getting the 91 ex mc 15/16 your stock booster is fine

Maybe because you will get the same result at a smaller price. I am just the type that rather kill two birds with one stone. Like doing the water pump, timing belt, tensioner, gaskets/seals all at once instead of just TB and WP.
the integra and civic brake booster/master cylinder flange is flipped 90 degrees, not 180=].
Get the 91 ex civic mc, it lines up with the eg brake lines, unlike the dc ones which will require you to bend the brake lines a little.
40/40 prop valve can be found in eg si and an integra rs model?not 100% sure on the integra part, but it can't be an abs model. I know forsure it can be found on da model integras with no abs.
use ebay, I bought a 91 ex master cylinder from there and it hasn't failed me yet, I'm using a 3030 prop valve and it works fine. But I'm waiting for a chance to grab at a 4040.

Quick question for you guy's. I have converted my 1995 Civic DX to SiR (Si in the U.S) brakes all around, which also has disc in the rear. What would be the correct BB/MC to use, and what prop valve should I use as well?
Thanks!
Thanks!
5th gen Sis don't use a 4040 prop valve, they're 3040, ive personally removed them to swap them with a 4040 valve.
maybe the brake lines are different because it was an abs one, not an integra one.
yeah, I could've sworn it also came from the si, but you are the one who helped me out on my brake swap and I can't find the information i'm looking for to back me up so you got me=].

Ok, so the recommended setup is as follows...
92-95 Civic Brake Booster
91 Civic EX Sedan Brake Master Cylinder
40/40 Prop Valve (Off of what?)
