It used to honk if i locked it twice to let me know that i got the message, but now it doesnt. Ive unhooked the negative end of the battery for 10 seconds or so, but that didnt help. Im throwing P1166 and P1167, but that has to do with my primary o2...

does your horn work normally? And your doors are actually locking? Maybe try reseting the remote...

Lol wow ^^ How do you reset the remote? Awhile back my car stopped flashing the lights whenever I locked or unlocked it. I could never figure out why it stopped and it really bugs me til' this day lol. Not to thread jack or anything but I think we are in a similar situation haha.

 

Yeah, im pretty OCD myself and having it not honk anymore does way more than bugs me.

Now just for those instructions on how to reset the remote...

this happened to my friends DC5 once.

the hood latch was kind of messed up and the hood looked closed but not fully locked (if that makes sense)

messed with it for a few minutes. shut the hood. locked it and it beeped. so check that?

 

hmmm, i've opened / shut the hood numerous times since the problem came up. I guess ill just have to bodyslam it shut to make sure it closes all the way lol.

 

Try locking and unlocking numerous times to see if it switches back to how you like it. That's how some aftermarket alarms work anyway..

 

i bet there is a sequence of buttons u need to push to change it back.

 

it will only "beep" if all the doors and the hatch are locked. The beep just confirms you are locked up.....lock it up and then try to open every thing, you may have a dead acuator on one of the doors/hatch.

Probably. i bet i have to reset the ECU, hold the trip button and put in my immobilizer code all while praying to the honda gods

It bothers the crap out of me. When im walking away from it going to class, sometimes i cant tell if i locked it or not. so i look like a nut walking back to the car leaning to the right to see the lights flash.

 

I know dude, at least mine honks since it doesn't flash lol. That's the only way I trust it. I still can't find anything either to fix my problem.

 

Just curious how far away from your guys car are you when you lock? I shut my door and lock it right next to it. I always hate the douche bags that wait till they get half way to the building and make their chevy cobalt honk acting like it is magic that the car is honking by itself. I can understand if you were unsure if it was locked, but everyday you walk into work? Seriously.

BTW does your horn work when you just honk it from the steering wheel? Like Spaz said?

 

I lock it right away for the most part. If I make it honk it's because I walked away and just want to make sure it locked fine, mine just doesn't flash anymore and it's stupid haha. I think it should be in the same category as his not honking though, yah dig. Hopefully both solutions are pretty similar.

 

I've just had stuff stolen so im kinda crazy cautious. It was kinda my fault because i left it unlocked. As i was walking to class i was putting books in my bag and by the time i got around to tryign to lock the car i was out of range. i just assumed it locked and came out with missing soccer *****, jackstands, and the stock springs lol.
