i was thinking of going supercharger on my teg but i wont know how to start on putting on a supercharger i put most of my bolt on myself so i know a bit about car but i wouldnt know where to start on this.......

 

Believe it takes the place of your Intake manifold bolts right up with the pulley to hook up to your crankshaft pulley somehow never thought about it why not turbo???

 

Honestly, the JR supercharger is a "bolt on" part. Self contained, no need to tie into either the oil or coolant systems.

He lives in California, and probably wants to stay smog legal.

Same way shocks cool themselves, by radiating heat through the metal body.

I'm sure there are others that cool differently, but I've only bothered to look into the JR supercharger because it is Cali smog legal. It has its own oil, and is self contained.

 

Very nice! Sounds interesting but I am a turbo guy myself so excuse me for being closed minded to the idea of a supercharger on an import. Do they have a variety of sizes for pulleys to upgrade to? And how do you tune them... SAFC?

No, neither is "more reliable". Each is only as reliable as the actual parts used and tune.

Lets not turn this into the turbo vs. supercharger debate. That's been done to death.

This isn't my thread hoss, I'm a believer that superchargers are for Domestic I could install it no prob.

 

thanks for the help if it just bolt on like you say it should be a problem then cuz your right unlike the turbo there alot of extra thing i have to do to it to make if work and like drain an hole on my oil pan to feed the oil line back into it etc.

 

yeah and the JR supercharger was the one i was thinking of getting and i run turbo before but my car got stolen maybe cuz of the turbo and maybe the people around could heard it. so now i want to try supercharger.

 

no one blows up motors using a s/c, turbos can blow up a motor. there's no debate there.

 

unless theres bad air/fuel tuning i would asume

 

try something different, go for the supercharger. what is or isnt "jdm" doesnt matter. do what you want if you have the money. most superchargers are just bolt on i believe...

 

I don't think you could call a turbo "jdm".. its more of a... any domestic market.. "adm"?
