Well i have searched for a long time and still haven't found a solution, but this is the story
I have a 2000 itr with stock p73 ecu. A while back my iacv went back and my check engine light came on so i clean the iacv n reset the ecu n soon as i hit vtec same thing happens again. Then i change the iacv with a used one and the same thing happens. Then once again i change the iacv but with a new one and the idle still sucks and soon as i hit vtec the check engine light comes on and it has that same shitty problem that occurs from a bad iacv. Can someone help me with this with some ideas?
because i have searched and tried everything n still nothing!

Was the check engine light because of the IACV? or something else? If it keeps on happening, it has to be something else because everytime you change it, it still comes back.

then as soon as i would hit vtec or just smash it a little i would throw the code for the iacv and the idle would start messing up
Have you checked the O2 sensor or your catalytic converter? I have a friend that went through that... His check engine always went on when he drove spirited and he couldnt figure it out. Until he checked his O2 then the cat... Just something to look at... Good luck either way.
are you sure its a code for the iacv and not the tps? i had the same problem with an aftermarket tps, and everytime i hit vtec i would get a cel. i finally swapped an oem tps on and it never happened again. are you using an aftermarket iacv? just ideas... its something to do with the throttle position on your manifold and how it reacts to wot.
