is it ok to put hids in generic fogs you can buy at the store?

No. It isn't "ok" to perform a modification for the sole purpose of blinding other drivers.

I'm always getting blinded by those ppls who put hid in their fogs. I hate them!

i was just asking cuz i think the hids would be to hot for the housing

umm they could be to hot, but unless they are some really cheep peices of crap from auto zone or something, you prolly wont have any problems.
tons of people have hids in oem honda fogs and have no problems.
have you looked at any oems?

Because a 35W HID capsule will somehow magically produce more heat than a 55W halogen bulb, despite being a more efficient form of electric lighting drawing significantly less power?

A 35W HID bulb produces less heat than a stock 55W halogen bulb.
