Fuel light not coming on, 95 del sol d16z6
As far as I know the tank on a stock d16z6 '95 del sol si is 11.9 gal, I keep going to the gas station and filling up at like 10.9 gallons when I have about 1 gallon left but my light has never come on since I got the car about a month ago, nor have I ever heard any ding or anything to tell me my fuel is low, the fuel gauge works and shows me when I am close to empty as it should, but no light. When does the light normally come on? when how much is left in the tank? Because they get good gas mileage I think maybe I just haven't gone below the threshold, but I am afraid to let it just run till I am empty and then get stuck (I know I should just get a gas can to have with me but I haven't yet) Does anyone know when the light is supposed to come on? or what might be wrong if its not coming on properly? I haven't checked fuses(if it even has one) any help would be great thanks!
not sure if ur whip has a low fuel indicator light, some hondas didnt come with'm... + u kno its not healthy to run ur tank on empty all the time right, not bitchin at ya just lettin ya kno that by doing that ur suckin up whatevers in the bottom of the tank an circulating it thru ur pump/filter/lines and if theres any dirt/debris in there u can bet on a clogged filter or failed pump after long... GL tho...

the 95 del sol SI i believe came with a light but if it's an S or a 93 or 94 they didn't come with one. My light on my 99 SI stopped working and I can't seem to fix it so I just deal without it and fill up whenever I can. You still have a gauge that shows when you're getting close to empty but the light SHOULD come on when you have I think like less than a gallon and should give you roughly 30 miles to get to a gas station.
lol im willing to bet you don't have a light at all. i could be wrong how ever what is so hard about filling up when you get to a 1/4 of a tank? i've done this in everyone of my eg's for the past 6+ years. and even before that my fords :-/
there was only once I let it actually get past only 1 gallon left, normally I fill up before that, but it would be nice to know when my light is supposed to go on because I am not sure if I just haven't gone below the threshold or if it actually isn't working properly. I am currently trying to fix all the little things on my car like lights and rattles and the stupid stuff that makes it feel clean when I drive it, and I'm not an idiot I can see there is an indicator in the dash that should light up, its a 95 Si model which I stated at the beginning.

your fuel light not coming on is a GOOD thing, you do have one, you just never want to see it. the light is on a ground side controlled switch that has to go through a thermister (thermometer gauge) that is constantly monitoring your fuel pump, the gas running through it keeps the pump cool, if you run out of gas then the pump ovreheats and completes the circuit, that means you need a new pump. then the light comes on. do yourself a favor and fill up when you hit a 1/4 tank and avoid seeing that light
no seriously, you don't have a light at all, if your tank runs out of gas and your car dies end of story.
there is probably a thermal overload sensor in the fuel pump but it would turn right back on once it cools down, but the only time that will happen is if you run the pump with out fuel for extended periods of time. which wouldn't happen because as soon as the ecu sees the motor stop spinning it cuts power to the fuel pump. if you want turn your key to the on position, but don't start the car, it will do a bulb test, and you wont see a gas light.

I have a 95 Del Sol S. I do have a low fuel light, but it has only come on once or twice when I was VERY low (it took 10.5 gals to fill).
Most of the time I fill up at 1/8 tank and it takes 9.8 to 10 gals.

Well at least its not one more thing I gotta fix, I assume its working properly, and I won't mess with it. The fuel gauge works just fine so I am happy the way things are.
