Just opened up this b18a1 and found out that it has different pistons, meaning not stock. Last owner said its high compression, but i didnt believe until i seen it my self.

anybody know by this picture what 'brand name' pistons these are?

and yes alot of carbon build up so it might be hard to determine

 

Pull your oil pan off (as well as oil pickup and windage tray) and then look at the *** end of them. You should be able to see the JE, CP, Arias, Wiseco casting/stamp on the bottom side. From the top its pretty damn hard to tell in all honesty.

 

Thats what I thought, i gotta put it on a engine stand this week

 

if you clean them up i could tell you if they were forged or cast pretty easy. beyond that who knows. they might be stamped on the underside if you really want to know. hard to say if they are or not.
