New civic Si-R
Hello,
I am new to Honda Tech, just wanted to see what information if any people have on the 2003 Civic Si-R. I recently found one in Vancouver and my wife pick up for me since I am living in Illinois. But I guess I want to know what people thought of the Si-R, I can also up load pics. It has a wings west body kit on it that I will be taking off and retunring it back to stock. Not a fan of kits. and I do know that it has a cold air intake but the filter needs replaced. Let me know what you guys think of it. Thanks

Its a good car. Just know it is not that fast and doesnt have traditional v-tec. Once you get pass the flaws, you will love it.

Yeah basically but i still like them, just minor differences just can say it is an siR, I am planning on converting it to the type R. That and it is a project car my daily driver is a 06 STi, and my wife has my type r now.
Any reconmendations on first mods for this car? I am sourcing out a type r k right now, other then that I plan on a bore and port full head job and possibly will go with a greddy kit. I also will be upgrading to five lug and bigger brakes. That is just the first set of plans for now.

^ i know right. then again my girl loves cars too but is kind of a ricer lol if you want fast i would good with a diffrent kit then greddy. look into the peakboost turbo kits or full-race they are pretty nice and have awesome gains
Not really looking for fast just mild build but thank you I will have to check them out. Yeah she is cool, she had a mustange when I first met her, then traded it for a 09 corolla S because of the kids we have. I was going to sell my Type R. but I couldn't part with it. She is wanting to pick up a s14 for her to build, I kind of gave her the tuner bug. But she gets out and does wreenching next to me, and she is prissy so its a win win situation.
white is one of the nicer colors for the ep. yea ditch the kit asap mid wing top wing and all. try to keep it as oem as possible. get a nice suspenion setup/cold air intake and call it a day.
Yeah like i said never was a fan of kits, not even back in the day when I was running my crxs'. I am planning on keeping the type r style wing, till I get a jdm one.
yes good call on that one. i wish my car came with a wing like that makes it look less like a minivan lol yes well have fun with this car its a great dd but if you gonna build it... that's awesome
Ok why would you get rid of it??? Its the same thing... plus the JDM one you will have to change your whole hatch to get it to fit!!!!!
wtf why is there a mopar guy in here? lol i though they hated honda. i always get dumps down when they drive by thinking they better then everyone else lol. sry not trying to steal ur thread
As for the hatch I didnt know it wasn't a direct fit, I would of researched it before I had baught it. I was just looking at my options. And I figured if I was going to go type R I wanted it to be authentic. I am building it because alot of people around here say civics can not be fast at all. So I figured I would build it authentically since I have the money to do so. Also I will be posting the differences between the civic si and the SiR since there are plenty I have found out.
