they suck anyway. no imagination at all. they guys there just want to list all kinds of oem honda upgrades they got. "omg i just got front mudguards". man who cares. Ive felt more love on this site than ive had being on hondasuv for 5yrs.
Thats so funny you brought that up. I went on there the other day to see how far people have progressed the first gen CRVs and I was shocked. You 2 guys had the sickest ones on there, but everyone else had no clue. They were asking about what performance chip should I get. God damn, its not a VW. lol But anyways you guys have some sick trucks.

Yo this thread is hilarious. I thought I was the only one thinking the same thing. It seems with the owners/mods on that site that if its not OEM, its not worth talking about. Its sad cause it could be and used to be a good site but a lot of members have stopped posting and are on forums like H-T.
As a new CRV(97) owner, I'll say that I agree that hondasuv doesn't have much info as far as modding goes (not much here on HT either though unfortunately), but I have found some good info regarding maintanence, problems, etc.
Apparently CRV's aren't popular enough to have much aftermarket support and aren't modded enough to find a lot of good info.

That's exactly it...
Although it's a Honda, Not too many people are looking to make theirs super fast, or an off-road capable machine.
It'll do well in a pickle, but a CRV will not be able to traverse mud or ruts. Light camping and off-road is fine, but it really does shine its best in snow.
If you're looking to make a CRV fast, you're of two categories. You want to be different, or you were handed down the crv, and that's all you can afford to drive right now. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not the best base money wise.
Take the RDX for example...no support at all. Just nothing there for it, and unfortunately, probably won't ever be.
I don't think I've been on any site dedicated to honda trucks/suvs that have the same tech articles or aftermarket support as the civics, accords, or even trucks like the f150, ram, silverado, etc.
Most people drive the CRV just to drive it.

I LOVE IT ! ! ! I have a 5lug EK thats sick, but i have got way more
attention from my crv. It will punk off most N/A hondas to about 90mph.
I wanted it for Snowbarding, I also didnt want to deal with problems on
a jeep, subaru ect ect the crv is B-series, so i can fix any problem period
and for dirt cheap. Hell i would through a B16 in i dont care ill just turn the
boost up lol b16 block sell for less then $200 all the time.
Its a affordable car, at least for me, im gonna keep it a long time.
I myself find nothing wrong with the site. I have actually gotten alot of info from the site since I've bought my V and met a few of the guys from the site. They seemed to pretty cool guys from talking to them in person. Not sure why everyone started bashing the site but hey just my worthless opinion.

As far as buying a crv to go fast or making it fast good luck. A CR-V would be the absolute last thing I would buy to go fast in. I have always been a fan of the V's but since I am a cheap a$$ I never bothered to buy one till last summer. I always wanted a 1st gen so I hunted one down that was resonably priced that i liked and got it but anyway enjoy................

actually the site is helpful for all oem/maintenance things...
i also back read all posts there and its helpful, its just that
when it comes to performance pursuits/mods, they really(most)
dont adhere to that.. well as qouted there: "..to each their own... "
its up for you what or how will you do with your V,
as for me, im just toying my V around...
props to you sir! (rep points too! to everyone taking their V's to another level..)

Actually Honda knew what they were doing when they built the CRV. Most of the parts are off the Civic or Integra builds. And a lot of parts are alike or can be matched to the CRV. Hence (B20VTEC). Its obviously not the car you want if your trying to "go-fast" but if you're like me and like having plenty of room, have two car seats, and want some extra go-power, its a great choice for the money!
bump for this..
i like spacious/roomy cars!!
and its true, most of the parts came from civic/integra
which you could interchange or use!
its just that if you look at the part nos. it may not be
the same as for civic/integra but its one way of them
telling " which part is going where" same part but different
car to be used...
its the part no. for that model but same part(item)
in the honda "storage"
thats just my observation..since ive seen this things
inside the dealership storage back in my country!
