What types of things can i do to my rsx that wouldnt void the warranty?

Can i do cold air intake?
New rims?
New hood?
any other suggestions..?

All I can say is Comptech. Their parts will not void any warranty's that the factory has on the car. All the dealers sell Comptech to the customers.

As for intakes, they have a cold air box, they also have an exhaust, strut bars, sway bars, and brake pads.

Adding rims will not void your warranty, neither will getting a different hood. Adding a CF hood will not void nothing. If it does not affect the frame, internals, or something major it does not void the warrenty.
Here is what the dealership told me:
If the part you get contributes to the problem, then it voids the warrenty.

Alot of help huh.. LOL.. Comptech does not void the warranty but do not expect big hp gains.

Im going all TODA myself, so once the internals go in, my warranty goes bye bye. hehe.. It all depends on you bro, to void or not to void is the questions. heehe..

also, anything you add to your car will NOT void the warranty if it is NOT the source of the problem. i.e. if you throw in an intake and your suspension starts creaking, they can't give you **** for that because there is no way the intake caused it. grey davis signed some bill stating this as well (if you're in CA) but that should be the general law.

 

yup they are right...if the dealer claims a part caused the defect then they have to prove that it was the part that caused it to not warrent your claim

 

Then why do those dealers sell their own body kits that look like **** for twice as much as the aftermarket ones? They keep claiming one point and one point only, "It doesn't void your warranty" I hope you guys are right cause I really wanna mod my car but I'm afraid of losing my warranty and then the car ******* up right after it..

 

well the BS dealer here said that my tranny was making a weird noise because i was lowered on springs and guess whos springs i was using COMPTECH. some pple are idiots

 

that's BS, go back to the dealer and put your foot down, and have him tell you exactly how the height of a car can affect a transmission (unless it's been knocked around or something). i hate dealers

 

well they said when you lower a car the axles push into the tranny. or something like that. i guess he could be right but i never heard of this before and the car was dropped only like 1"

 

in general you have to give an arguement to dealers for them to really do jack sh*t about your problem. i guess that's just life.
