Alright- I was swapping out camshafts, and when pulling the cam gear side exhaust cap, the oil orfice came out with it-
Now i just took it off cleaned it and put it back into the head.
I am now trying to re assemble the head, and am stuck-

As you can see all the caps are on, except that one-
It will not go on- I tried putting the plate on and tightening it, and it went, but after pulling plate off to check, it just pops back up...
Could it be the oil orfice?

Again please please help! Thanks in advance!

That is the thing-
The dowels are immaculate, not bent or anything. It feels to me as if its rocking upon the camshaft itself? Like the camshaft is too big? Im going to go pull the other caps and check to make sure nothing is under the camshaft, even though i know nothing is lol
What should I look for on the cap? thanks!!

it looks like something is scratching the cam, try like you mentioned, and try to install without the cam, or start installing the caps from that end see if it frees up any?

I dont see why the orfices would cause the camcap not to go back on, but as a recommendation if the orfices are old or have never been changed I would replace both the IN & EX for peace of mind.
If the O-rings around them are worn you might not get sufficant oil pressure to those journals, which may cause wear or scoring.
