Default Changing speedometer?

Hi i have recently brought a 1990 Honda Accord LX Auto. The speedometer doesn't work. I have done a lot of searching. I know its not the VSS because i don’t have a cel light and my cruise control works. Also my rpm's and my odometer work. I have found that it could be the speedo head or the printed circuit board but that thread was for a 95 accord so i dont know if that applies to my car. Is there anyway i can fix the speedometer without messing up my mileage? It seems it costs a lot to have a mechanic do this.

Buy a used cluster from Ebay for around $45 shipped. Take the circuit board out and put it into yours and see if that would work.
Good Luck.
