Default 2 way pager Alarm Antenna mounting that criticle?

I purchased a nice AUTOPAGE alarm and the instructions say best mounting with the antenna tip facing upwards for best range. Now when i installed my carvox into my wife's car i wasn't worried about it to much and mounted it in the position they said to.My question is would range really suffer if the antenna tip was facing right or left? (like 90* either way from straight up?) Only reason i ask is I am doing a stealth install and dont want the wire showing at all but know the antenna has to be in a window. Pictures of some Antenna mouting positions and some FACT not Opinion would be greatly appreciated..

Yes, it will effect range, how much will depend on other things along with ant location and orientation of mast.

Do what I do, do a temporary mount in places where you would want it and check the range you get, if you can live with the range you get over what you get when ant. is in optimum position, go ahead and run the ant. lead and mount it where you want it. 94

would it be a good idea to mount the antenna the way it says in the quarter window. I have a crx if that helps. The cable is long enough to stretch it out and put the antenna on one side of the car and the brain on the other. I just dont want a tril to the alarm brain.

What model alarm is it? I not sure how you are mounting this. But they make the unit were you can mount it correctly with out the wires showing.

its the RF_525 w/C3 i have been getting a see alot of info from the causeforalarm webpage. I have seen he is mounting the antenna's inverted with no problems. I did not want the unit setting right above the dash so i also inverted the antenna on top of the windshield and ran the wiring through the headliner. i have a tint strip on the top of my windshield but the antenna was just long enough to not be effected by it. we will see how it works out if the range suffers i can always change it
