Icon6 d16y8 boosted or lsvtec

Hey guys I have a b18a1 engine just sitting in my garage it needs a rebuild kit and still tranny but also I have a d16y8 that is in my car it is stock and has about 115k and I was just getting some ideas about what to do and I've come down to either boosting my d16y8 on 10psi for a daily driver or dealing with the d16 for about 4 months and build my lsvtec but I've heard stories about d16 on boosted raping lsvtec and crvtec so if y'all could help me out just to figure out which one will create the most whp without building the block and ****...thanks

I think you should go lsvtec because your using it as a daily cruiser. Laster if you want to you can boost the motor and youll be set

Stock Y8 on boost will hold like 200WHP. Sure you could go more but who knows how long it will last. If you build the LSVtec you could get close too 200WHP depending on what you do to it. It's all preference really, if you want to keep the Y8 in for now and putt around in it while you build the LSVtec then go for it in the end its up too you.

boost the y8, By the time it blows, you will have the lsvtec ready to swap in.

ya i understand where your coming from but in all power the y8 will beat the lsvtec but like you said idk how long it will last lol but i like the d series cause nobody excepts them to be powerful...i might sell my ls for another d16 and do the vitar build on it and run 400whp on that one with only like 5 psi lol

gotta love the D

Boost the D16Y8. If the engine is in good condition, you can boost safely to 200-225WHP, as long as the tune is good.

Two things you must remember:
1. Tune is key.
2. Your setup is only as reliable as its weakest link. Only use proven quality/durable parts.

Hondata S300 would be a great thing to use.

Just make sure your friend knows what he's doing.
