d16y8 boosted or lsvtec
Hey guys I have a b18a1 engine just sitting in my garage it needs a rebuild kit and still tranny but also I have a d16y8 that is in my car it is stock and has about 115k and I was just getting some ideas about what to do and I've come down to either boosting my d16y8 on 10psi for a daily driver or dealing with the d16 for about 4 months and build my lsvtec but I've heard stories about d16 on boosted raping lsvtec and crvtec so if y'all could help me out just to figure out which one will create the most whp without building the block and ****...thanks
Stock Y8 on boost will hold like 200WHP. Sure you could go more but who knows how long it will last. If you build the LSVtec you could get close too 200WHP depending on what you do to it. It's all preference really, if you want to keep the Y8 in for now and putt around in it while you build the LSVtec then go for it in the end its up too you.

Boost the D16Y8. If the engine is in good condition, you can boost safely to 200-225WHP, as long as the tune is good.
Two things you must remember:
1. Tune is key.
2. Your setup is only as reliable as its weakest link. Only use proven quality/durable parts.

hell ya i gotcha so i would need a hondata s300 then ill proly just get a street tune from a friend bullet but it will be good cause my engine has no oil leakes or anything wrong with it it runs great
ya the only problem with the s300 is that it cost like 600 bucks.....but he knows what hes doing he has a lsvtec that is pushing 565whp but he also spent around 3000 with out the cost of a turbo lol
