Autozone torque mounts question. Details inside/ UPDATED WITH PIX
Has anyone used them. This is pic of what mine looks like? how bad of shape is it in?
I know for sure that the spider drive side torqe mount is bad, but will i feel a difference if i replace it? Its holding on by one of 2 spider legs.

I would say they're fine, but I haven't tried any.
Or, you can get a tube of polyurethane and repair your broken bushings. You just take the bushing off, fill it with poly, and let it sit for a couple days before putting it back on. That's what I did. Seems quite a bit stiffer.

update bump - Would I feel a difference if I just replaced both torqu mounts and not engine mounts?

was considering window weld or just replacing the torque mounts. I am not quite sure how to even check the rear motor mount...

You should be fine but make sure you bring the old part in with you to make sure the holes line up 100%..

i don't know about the Autozone brand, but I purchased the lower driver side torque mount from Napa and it made it taiwan and is way thicker than stock honda mounts.
the rear one is difficult to get to. i had my tranny out and it still sucked, busted a couple knuckles actually.
anyhow, yes window weld works great, but if you want it to look nice and be stong go on Summit Racing's website www.summitracing.com and order a set of Energy Suspension motor mount inserts they are 37.95 plus around 10 bucks flat rate for shipping and you will notice a difference, just installed them in my 2000 EJ8 coupe and they are freakin awesome almost comparable to solids.

are you getting any vibration from them?
How long will they last?
should i just throw them in with my cracked mounts?

That mount is TOAST. I've never used AZ mounts, we have used LOTS of mounts from Oreilly Auto Parts and other than the occasional "boxed wrong" part they seem top be of good quality. Made by Anchor?????

they should last a long time because they are made out of some type of poly plastic instead of rubber.
energy suspension reccommends that you change any broken mounts before using the inserts, which is what i did, but on the upside you have less of a chance breaking the mounts once you install the inserts.
i also bought the conversion mount for the 96-00 civics from Innovative Mounts just to be safe

What makes this mount TOAST? It appears that the majority of the mount is together, its just that thin stuff that is cracked....

I dont think so cuz they dont vibrate when you drive it off the factory floor man....
A brand new EJ or civic would not vibrate. This is a stock mount and my car doesnt vibrate now.

yeah, that mount looks 100% fine to me, assuming there's no cracks that I'm not seeing in the picture. From what I've seen, that's just how they look. If there's no cracks or breaks in the thick rubber, you're good to go. I've never in my life seen one with the thin rubber there, and I got my car with 7xxx miles on it.
Now let's see the spider mount from the other side. I'll almost guarantee that one's tore up.

AZ ones are probably fone. That looks like a passenger side one. At least on the 96-00 civics the passenger and drivers side are different patterns of rubber. Drivers is a chinsy spider web - you'll know when that one is toast. There is a recent post on why not using passenger side one on drivers side as the look the same size. I don't know if there was resolve on the issue.
I just got mine done along with every other mount on car. I got oem's at cost. Only bad thin I have heard of anchor mounts are their oil filled ones which are supposed to be ****. If they are lifetime try em. Easy enough to get on and off, UNLESS the upper bolts are stuck and you break off the welded nut inside the frame rail. Ask me how I know and see post from 2 days ago. If you break that inside nut, be prepared for frustration. Suggest that everytime you take these off you chase the threads on the nut inside and the bolt and maybe some antisieze.
Read up and you'll see that these mounts break alot.

This area roughly highlighted in red should be hollow, but the thin rubber that IS there won't do anything.

Can anyone confirm if replacing just the driver side spider torque mount will even do anything? Since it appears thats only one that is bad?

yes, fixing/replacing the spider torque mount will do something. A bad mount will cause excess wheel hop and affect traction on that side, especially under heavy acceleration.
Given the total inadequacy of the OEM spider mount though, I would highly recommend doing something other that just putting another one in there.
When I window-welded mine (since I didn't want to wait several days for it to cure), I went to the junkyard and bought a second set of trashed torque mounts for $5. Then I window-welded those. When they were completely dry and setup (took about 3 days), I put them on the car.
Yes, it will make a difference. I do hereby confirm it.
