difference between vtec and non-vtec engines?
i know how vtec's differ from non-vtec's, what i want to know is if say
engine #1 is a non-vtec and engine #2 is a vtec,if you put a vtec head on engine #1 will that make it a vtec? or do you have to also replace internal parts in the block? i dont have much knowledge on this and would like to learn.

-b series vtec head (B16a/b16b/b18c/b18c1/b18c5/...)
-new rods (optional)
-higher CR pistions to take advantage of the higher flowing head
-block girdle (optional - added stability to the block at high revs)
-vtec conversion kit (will have to drill holes onto block to feed oil to head)
-b series vtec transmission (optional - will help utilize the narrow powerband)
-Some kind of a fuel management (Chrome, Neptune, AEM, Hondata,...)
i read this post from another forum on google, so i guess im going to need all these parts then. thanks g2

Bambam made a great write up, it's on here but the link I have is to the same write up on Honda Swap: http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ar...b20vtec-70187/
At the very least, shot peen the stock rods.
Note: Chrome, Neptune, AEM, etc are engine management/stand alone ECUs not fuel management. Though they do control fuel.
