Default VTEC not engaging, need help trouble shooting! Thanks!

I just got my head rebuilt and new pistons and got a S100 hondata. I took her up past 6000rpms and vtec didn't hit. What are some things I need to check?

Have you verified connectivity to your solenoid?

P28. There is a cel but its code 9 which is the distributor, but i was using the same distributor on my old set up with the same cel. And vtec should be enabled, I took it to this guy who put a base map on there, i don't see why he wouldn't enable it. He told me to take my car to vtec to make sure it was working.

if thats what was changed, you need to start there. see if it isn even enabled, or if it has a higher crossover point.

See if you can get a P28, and see if you have problems. Double check the stock ECU to see if it throws codes, if it runs fine, then I would think something was not done right with the S100
