99 JDM B18C (not spec R) question..
I just purchased a 99 JDM B18C not spec-r for my eg. I have been looking everywhere for true numbers but nothing is for sure. What is the HP on this motor exactly. Some say it's a SIR-G others say it's a GS-R. When i bought the motor, it was written 99 GS-R on it. Someone please clarify this for me?
Thanks.
Thanks.
What engine code does it have stamped on it? There should be a plate next to where the transmission bolts up. It's probably a B18C2, that'd have 170 hp @ 7600 RPM, but with the precise engine code it'll be easier to tell for sure.
Jdm B18C are called just that...B18C whether it is the SI-R or the Type R. As far as I know the jdm B18C (non-itr) makes 180 hp as long as you have the ecu that correspond with it.
Yes i do, i will be running OBD2. So it's 180 hp then, that's good to know. They kept telling me it's 170 hp? Whatever, 10 hp makes no diff lol. Thanks guys.
