i have a 92 lx with a z6 i just got the car it wasnt runing and guy had plugs in all different spots will it has the si/ex engine harness on it and still has the sedan lx chassie harness but yea when i start the car it revs up to about 5k and if i unplug the iac valve then it idle hops from like 1k to 3k there is a p05 ecu runing i know i need to change it out for a p28 but i figured it would at least idle and run decent and just not have vtec but yeah c if you u guys have any idea on this i am stumpd and lookin for advise

Clean the IACV. If that doesn't fix it, get the right ECU (you should get the ECU either way). If neither works, get a new IACV.


Isn't the P05 for the D15B8 (8 valve engine)? I don't think a Z6 will run so well on a P05 ECU.

 

cool yeah i getin a p28 i hope this weekend then i got another iacv i going to try my tps has small crack in it so i dont know if that could do it to

 

Get the right ecu! I've had similar issues, it turned out to be the combination of a broken TPS and a vacuum leak.

 

if it's jumping to 3k, it sounds more like TPS than IACV...

 

well if the TPS is cracked, definitely fix that first.

 

i had a similar problem with my car turned out to be a vaccume leak.
