Well my car has been at the body shop for about 3 weeks now...and it's getting fresh paint tomorrow! Has anybody used sikkens? Good/bad? My painter swears by it but i've never seen/heard of people using it.

 

never heard anything bad about it...its paint for german cars i think...my buddy used to use it and also swore by it

 

Sikkens is very fine european paint freaking awesome Colormatches,Clear,primer,everything.Expensive as ****.

 

sweet..good to know. He was telling me it's pretty pricey but I am no painter. He's a friend of a friend and is charging me 2550 for complete paintjob including jams, roll bar, and all bodywork..it's suppose to be out this weekend so i'll post some pics

 

Wow if he's using sikkens and not b.s you're getting a hell of a deal.

 

yeah he's a super chill guy..he paints some of the cars you see at SEMA. I've been to his shop numerous times and yesterday he actually let me watch him mix the paint and showed me the process..pretty crazy.

damn. car looks awesome in the before pic already. lol. now im really tempted to see what color you're repainting it. and that is a hell of a deal for that price and a real complete paint job.

 

Thanks..the car is going to be a way different red(hope you guys like pearl). The paint before wasn't really as good as in the pictures..it had a ton of rock chips, a gash in the front bumper, bunch of dings, and the rear was turning pink..or maybe I am just really **** about my car.

 

lol. yea, i'm also **** about my hatch. i need to save up and also get a repaint. but i'll probably just repaint it the same color. and pearl on red is nice depending on the color. but you seem to have good taste from teh mods on your car so i'm sure the paint will turn out great.

 

we sprayed sikkens at the honda /ford /toyo/lexus dealer i worked at and i have used most all paints out there and sikkens has the best color technology in the market. there product as far as durabilety is excellent we never had it draw up show blims awsome paint in my opinion . the only down fall ,but this has nothing to do with you is that it is a very precise mixing ratios and very tempermental while spraying ,but if your shooter is good with it then that s not an issue . one of my old school painter once said " I God made any finer paint he woulda kept it for his self" . car s lookin great dude

 

I love Sikkens paint, I've never had a problem with it. The shop i used to work at used it and fell in love. IN fact, I painted Mr.Coupe's car with sikkens paint. Check out his build thread for pics
