Default h22a in a 6th gen

i know this topic has been beat to death but i cant find ant of the info i need. my engine in mt 98 lx accord is going and i fogured if i was going to put a new engine in it i might as well put in a h22a. the ting is i cant find any DIY on the swap. i know it is not a direct drop in on the 6th gen so i was wondering of anyone would kno what the problems would be with this swap wise. from what i was told 2 out of the 3 engine mounts line up and i guess keeping power stearing in a pain. i know there isint to much info on a h22 swap in a 6th gen so any help would be awsome

try this one:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/6th-gen-h22-swap-info-473019/

i've heard the f20b driver side mount bracket is suppose to be the fix for the motor mount issue but i don't know if its true or not ... and i've heard of p/s lines being welded to work

i would get a obd jumper harness from rywire.com ... it's cheaper than a skunk2 harness and it does the same thing ... as far as the ecu you have get one that does not have an immobilizer ... and as for the mounts i got quoted 269.00 shipped for a set of innovative 75A mounts from a HT Sponsor ... give him a pm his user name is VisualAutoMotoring ...

hmmmm....the engine i have been looking at is a jdm h22a not a type s or a euro r just because they are a rip off imo, 2 grand more for 20 more horsepower. but to the point, does the 92-95 h22a ecu have a immobilizer? and if i cant use that ecu what kind can i use? as you can tell engine swaps are new to me. i can pull an engine out of a car and put the same one back in but a diff engine is new to me

JDM H22a ECU does not have an immobilizer. 97-98+ for immobilizers IIRC

it's worth it ... you get extra 20hp stock ... your going to have to spend close to 2 grand for less than 20hp anyway in a decent intake, header, hi-flo, catback ... those are pretty much the only "cheap" upgrades you can do ... and i don't think those bolt-ons can pick up 20hp without the help of a good tune ... i have a h22A sitting but i'm taking it back and getting a h22A type-s clip ... you figure the lsd trans they come with will run you about a minimum of $800 ... plus all the other things the clips come with which almost make it a plug and play swap ... and as a plus you can always sell the leftovers to prelude owners

well i can get a h22a and and add $300 for an lsd tranny from hmototersonline. i have ran into another snag tho, i live in new york state and i need an inspection and my car is a 98 so when i go to plug into the inspection computer it will read that i hane a diff engine and tranny.is there any way around this? i dont think the f23 ecu will work for the inspection and get my car to pass. you live in CA so what are you doing to pass inspection?

oooo well in NY we need to hook are car up to the new york state database and it will check to see if we have the original engine and ecu in are cars. if its not the same it wont pass. we need to do this once a year i assume just like a smog check.

From NYS too, 607. Wait, how does that work? What do they do on older cars? I have a '90 Mazda pick up and they don't hook that up to a computer. How do they check the engine and ecu is original? I know they scan it into the database, but that's just a barcode that records whether it passed or failed.

ur mozda is OBD1, any car up to 1995 is OBD1 anything after is OBD2. on pre 1995 cars they just do a visual inspection. on cars 95 and up they hook it up to the computer and it reads your ecu, if its not a stock ecu the computer wont pass your car nor will it even attemp to read it, it will come up as an error

^^ yup if your obd2 they def read your ecu ... my last 6th gen ecu would not hold the cycles so it would fail emissions even though it was pretty stock ...

How do you get around that? Can you program the ecu to think it's stock, or to send out a code that fools the computer? Do you swap out the ecu to get it inspected and then put your aftermarket one back in?

from what i understand the only way to pass in NYS is you have to know someone whitha shop that will inspect a stock car that is the same kind that you have, hope that car passes inspection and then put the inspection sticker on your car. i dont want to go through all of that crap just to get my car inspected, so i have come to the conclusion that my car is slow as ***** and i might as well build the f23. if you want to build your existing engine all you need is a piggyback system like a AEM FIC
