OBD2 B20 into OBD1 RS?
I will be putting a B20 into my DC Integra here shortly, and have never put an OBD2 motor into an OBD1 car, what is needed to be done? Are there any real complications that I should look for?
just get a obd2 to obd1 jumper (rywire or anywhere else). i belive you will need to use the obd2 engine harness. that should be it becuase it is a b series motor in a b series car.
All you need to do is put your obd1 distributor, intake manifold, and exhuast manifold onto the b20. No need to get a jumper harness, just reuse your obd1 engine harness. Its a pretty straight forward swap really.
the last two are the right answers, all you need to do is take your dizzy thats on the ls and swap it onto the b20,then take the exhaust and intake manifold off your ls and swap them aswell, this wayy all hoses, wires are exactly the same as they used to be letting you use the original ls ecu(the ls exhaust manifold is just a better flower thats all) however remember you are bumping the original compression from 9.2 to 9.6 and the dissplacement aswell and you probably have bolt-ons so a tune would yield a healthier, stronger outcome! remember that you dont need to wire new sensors that come with the obd2 b20 such as knock sensor and such, do not worry you will not pull a cel because of this its fine since the original ecu never had a knock sensor to be wired. and is this a jdm b20? there is some step you need to take when dumping in a jdm b20 into an usdm ls, I believe it was about some crank position or fluctuation sensor or something but if the b20 is usdm dont worry!
Well, I am not swapping from an LS to a B20. I have a high compression b16 that I am trading a buddy for his built B20. ANd I plan on boosting the B20. I was planning on boosting the b16 with methanol on really low boost, but I just don't feel like risking it.
I believe my buddy told me he wired everything through the dizzy? I am guessing that he just used an OBD1 dizzy for the motor.

yeah, i'm going to swap a OBD2 Ls into my OBD1 car soon and i'm pretty sure its jst the exhaust, intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors ETC, and Dizzy. one question though, are all b-series alternators the same? automatic /manual? obd1/obd2?

but yeah, u need a b18b obd1 intake mani, dizzy, n wiring harness, along with the ecu from a obd1 LS. it's cake
sorry my friend but you got most of that wrong, dont trust where ever you got that info from. the b18b is infact 9.2, and the 96-98 b20b is 8.8 and finally the 99-01 b20z is 9.6. it is cake though!
So wiring harness, ECU, intake mani, dizzy, is what is needed? Actually thinkin about this, it won't be too bad because I am getting the swap off a buddy who has it in an OBD1 car.
