motor was timed, now lags
ok, so i changed my water pump and had the motor re-timed, but when i tried going anywhere the car has no power,
In neutral it can hit 8,000 rpm's, starts up fine, and sounds great.
but when im in 1st it takes for ever to get to speed, like im being held back.
anyone got any clues as to why the motor bogs down so much when driving?

What do you mean when you say you got the motor re-timed?
I'm assuming you had the ignition timing set.
Sounds to me that the timing belt might be a tooth off.
This would effect the cam and crank timing.

well, i used a cam gear clamp and took off the timing belt, then took off the water pump, and changed it.
and i had my homie time to motor for me(just for the sake of keeping the motor running good)
he timed it , started right up but now it lags when in first, but rev's up fine in neutral
