B18b1 Help!
Ive searched and searched and cant find anything thorough enugh about doing the b18 swap into an EF. I dont know if the HT search is down or not but everytime I search I get nothing, maybe im doing something wrong. I wouldnt be posting this if I hadn't already serched cause I know how we HTers dont like when ppl ask ?s that can be answered with a search. So im rebuilding a b18b1 and I want to make it obd1. I know I need an obd1 ecu, dizzy, and the conversion harness from obd0-obd1. The thing is that im not to confident with the electrical part of the swap. What do I need as far as engine harness goes? Do I use my stock D15 engine harness? Firewall harness? If so what do I need to do to customize it? A link to all these ?s would be great. Thx to all in advance.
you will use your stock engine and cabin harness. the ecu jumper allows you to use the obd1 p75, and then the dizzy jumper allows you to hook up the obd1 distributor. if you want to use the obd1 injectors, then you simply need to delete the resistor box. otherwise just use the stock obd0 ones you already have and leave the res. box alone. either way you go you'll be accomplishing the same thing. because its a b1 you will also need to move/extend the coolant fan switch wires from the back of the block, to the side of the head on the thermostat housing. if you don't the radiator fan will never turn on. when you have the harness installed on your new engine it should look something like this. as you can see, nowhere for the pins to go.
