Default what kind of sand paper to use?

hey h-ter.

i am getting ready to sand my car down but i do not know what kind of grit to use? And do you guys have any advice in sanding down a car?

I use 3M. A lil pricey but worth it i think.

for like a wet sand and buff use 1000 grt 1500, following with 2000.

A little more info would help? Are you sanding to paint, to do body work, or to wetsand?
Whats the condition of the body surface?
