I have a 95 del sol with an H22 swap P28 ecu with hondata at times when im driving my speedometer will drop to 0 and it wont let me rev past 4500 rpms. But while the speedometer is working i can rev to 7800. Can anyone tell me what is wrong.

 

Just a shot in the dark, but poor ground? Check the engine, and the plug behind the gauge cluster. (its a single wire that grounds back there, not the cluster harness (tho it comes off there))

 

i was thinking a bad ground but a friend also told me it might be a bad speed sensor off the tranny

 

still no fix i replaced tranny speed sensor and vtec solenoid is good please help.

 

Is the CEL ON? Are you retrieving code 17 and possibly other codes?

Start by checking the VSS connector and wires.
