Low compression is your friend for simplicity of tuning in forced induction.

I'd go h23a if your going stock block boost, lower compression (always risky though, so toss reliable out the window when you go FI on stock blocks unless you got lots of money to spend and or at minimum a good tuner)

Either way, what ever block you "build" as long as you follow some basic rules (which you can read up in the forced induction section) either block / combo, is doable. Like I suggested though you should drop the compression of the motor, but keep in mind the FRM block, so if you have to sleeve you have to have a process done on the motor thats pretty expensive and its hard to find a machine shop that has experience with FRM.

well i'm not worry about the Price but if i'm gonna bulid a block i would like to start with a good block that will overall Put uP good numbers of course good rods and Pistons. for now the h22a will get boosted with my buddys and Noribuilt doing the tune. if you had the money and you had in front of you a emPty h22a and a emPty h23a1 which will you take to get built?

x 2 on F22. Great for boost! Lower compression and the cast iron block make sleeving easier and less expensive.

What do you mean not impressed? How many stock block cars can handle 400 whp? I've seen a few f22s do it and last for years. There are alot less h22's and h23s on stock boost that lasts as long, thats for sure! (What I said about "less h22's and h23s on stock boost that lasts as long" thats not fact, and I apologize for stating that. That could be entirely untrue. Thats all based on who tunes it in reality)

Dont get me wrong my f22a1 was fast after the boost but i felt like i started off at a step behind instead of starting off at 200hp i had to build it to that then after boosting it my numbers were 242hp i just feel i can get better numbers with a better block like the ones i have now i still have that f22a1 but its not a pretty sight

i have a 1992 honda prelude si that has a h23a1 and i want make it faster. I was thinking about taken a head off from a h22a1 that has v-tec and putting it on my h23a1 block an turbo chargeing it. i dont know if the h22a1 head will work on the h23a1 block. and if u could find some parts and how they work and if it will work. thank u.

You won't be using an h22 ecu ie. p13 to manage an h23vtec. The compression in the h23a1 is a bit lower. Would run the car unsafely, and not to the best of its potential. You'd ofcourse have to get it tuned properly with a programable ecu. Also running on a stock bottom end h23a1 and running the rev limit of an h22 map from the p13 would be stupid aswell.

H22 head will work on h23 block. You need various parts from h22, vtec solinoid, injectors w/appropriate accessories, amongst a bunch of other things that can be read up in the "h23vtec" thread which is accessed in the search engine. That topic will tell you everything you need to know.
