Well i searched but cant find anyhting anymore with this new search. Im looking to get a car but it has a diff engine obviously. Just wondering what steps to take. How i would go about smogging the vehicle? Do i have to pay a fee. Stuff like that. Thank you in advance

 

to get your car barred you have to get everything stock to the specifications of the engine swapped or if moddified all parts must have a CARB number or else you will fail.

 

You would then make an appointment with the bar ref. There they will smog and inspect the car. Looking for all the smog components. They will also run the VINs on the motor. I think the fee is around $40. They are really picky at the ref. I failed once because I didn't have a correct vacuum line.

that would be the easiest alternative

 

But beware if cops pop your hood you would be sent to the ref and be prepare to pay fines.

 

just make sure everything is stock or CARB exempt and hooked up correctly.

 

and that the motor is legit
