my "spare teg" that I use for parts cuz I got it off a kid that half stripped the interior, but decided to sell it for the price of the engine when the auto tranny died
I dont care about the tranny, but he said he swapped the engine made some claims about the source of the B18A (which runs great) that I would like to verify

is there a way to tell what year a block originally drove off the lot when the car it was in has been separated from it?

 

on the head it says the year and month

 

however, that's not necessarily the model year of the car. for example, an engine made in '90 might've been built to '91 specs for a '91 model year car.

but I am not needing to know this because I have to know specs or p/n's

just curious. the teg has the same ecu as my GS so it is close enough

though my GS is from the start of 91 models and the 'spare' is from late in the same year


where on the head would the date be stamped?
