Yes, it's an open event. There will be a race school, time-trial, and main race. Check out the website linked above for more info.

I was there at that event. I was the one with the white Prelude running in the Advanced group. The silver Civic in front of that white M3 was my friend, Charleston, he's also on this board and a very good driver.

So that was what happened to that M3, coolant problem!!! Hope your friend's M3 has no major damage from that.

I was at that event too! It was my very first time at any track, so I was in the beginner group. I remember that e30 M3 on my *** during one of the sessions, I let it pass . Also, when I went in to see the pix that the gift shop had taken, and they had a pic of that M3 chasing me. I saw it getting towed late in the day too, I was wondering what happened to it. Vwong, I saw your prelude too, and it looked very clean. There were 2 white R's there, I was in the one that didn't have a carbon fiber hood. Did you guys know that the motor blew in the other R during his first session? How sad. Well anyways, bye everyone.

Yeah, I heard the car when he passed by my paddock area, sounded horrible. I feel bad for him. I saw you on the track, I was up at the tower near the start line trying to take some photos but the auto shutter on my digicam was too slow to capture cars flying by me at 100+mph. I know it was your first time on the track, but I just wanna let you know (from watching you run at the tower) that you brake way too early for the 1st turn.

Thanks for letting me know, I did realize that I was braking too early there after I let an instructor drive my car. I did brake later a few times but most of the time I broke early since I was scared . At the end of the straight everyone is going so fast! Guess I'll have to get used to it.

Yeah...that was my Type R that broke down out there. Thanks to all the guys out there who came over the offer support. I really appreciate it. It's nice to know that when it really comes down to it, most car guys are great people.

I forgot to check my oil before heading out to the track that morning, and the previous night, I had a long drive down from San Jose. The drive down ate up a lot of my oil, and the first few laps on the track finished off the rest. Because of the oil starvation, my bearings spun and burnt the crank.

I'm surprised that VTEC didn't stop functioning a long time before the car broke down, because it relies on a certain oil pressure to operate. Well, this was an expensive lesson in checking EVERYTHING before you head out to the track. Anybody have an ITR crank they want to sell cheap?

I don't know if it is the design of the B-series engines, but my Integra (GSR Sedan) burns much more oil than my Prelude. The Integra was in for a 60k mile serivce, at 61,300 miles I had to add about 3 quarts of oil.

I'm not sure how much everything is going to cost. It won't be cheap. A new crank from Acura is about $900, but I'm trying to find a used one for under $450.

I haven't decided on pistons and rods yet. Since I'm rebuilding the entire thing, I could go with lighter pieces and higher compression, but I'm not sure how drastic I want to go. It also depends on how much my wallet allows.
