so i got a new car and i cant get 2 lugnuts off my rims because they are stripped. Does anyone know a good way to get them off? or a place thats not that expensive in socal that can do it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

use grip pliers.
put them at a setting where its going to be hard to make them grip.
then get a pipe that has a hole wide enough and use that to turn it.
worked for me

 

does anyone else have any other advice? just incase it doesnt work with the grip pliers...

 

cut them off and get new wheel studs along with lugnuts?

seriously wtf were you trying to take them off with that you stripped them?

 

some auto stores have sockets that you can BEAT onto the wheel nut made for stripped wheel nuts/lugs.

 

i already have extended wheel studs.. like i said i just bought the car and when i tried to take off the lugnuts/wheel locks i found out that 2 of them are stripped..
and what do u suggest i cut them off with?

get a lug nut extractor from a tool supply store or tool guy. i have a set of snapon ones.
they have removed a many stripped lugnuts.
vice grips ftl... i guess it goes to show the difference between a mechanic and a what ever you want to call it.
there is a tool for every job and a job for every tool. the tool guy say this all the time, never understood it till i hear some of the advice givven to hac a job.

 

i like this advice.. im going to hit a couple local stores and ask for that tool and ill let you know how it goes.. thanks

P.S. couldnt agree with you more about some of the "hac job" advice ive seen on here
