im getting an ef with a d16y7 in it, but the previous owner screwed up some wiring. he says he wired all of the rest of it correctly, and this is all thats left.
im not completely retarded but i dont know everything about hondas, so i need help
i believed these two are supposed to connect, but due to the motor being obd1, they are different. the harness TO the engine has 12 wires, and the wire FROM the engine has 13. (it may be the other way around, but im pretty sure its the way i said)
anyways, heres some pics i took.

are you sure your not just trying to slide them together wrong. i'm almost certain they should clip together. if the cabin harness is still intact and the engine harness is the original obd0 one (and it should be) those two should snap right together. like so

the green plug is supposed to go to the injector resistor box. if you're using the y7 injectors, which i imagine you would be since they are 180cc, and all the other usdm obd0 injectors are 235cc besides the crx hf, then you don't need the res. box. you need to solder together the 5 wires in that green plug.

Is the engine wire harness from an EF or is it from the d16y7? If it's from the y7 those plugs will not correctly plug into an ODB0 car. What trim is the EF? DX,STD,SI? For instance you cannot take a SI engine harness and plug it into a DX underdash harness, the plugs are different. Also you cant plug an OBD1 wire harness into a OBD0 underdash harness. I think this might be the case for this issue.
the car plug looks like a DX/STD/LX. the plug on the harness coming from the motor looks like an SI. the SI plug (white) has 8 wires and the green is the resister. the plug from the car has 12 wires.
the 2 will not plug up. what you need is a DX harness and do a MPFI wiring and get a resister box.
with the current engine harness you can get the resister plug (green) and use the 4 injector clips/wires. then you would need to go find a resister box

the trim on the car is dx. the motor is the y7, which is obd1 if im not mistaken. i was trying to find a way to solder them together to make it run.
i know the ecu wont plug in, but i was going to do the pin switch thing, i know it takes a while but its free.
as for the mpfi wiring, i already looked at that, but also read when you swap from obd0 to obd1 you pull the resistor box out anyways?
still kinda lost... maybe i am retarded.

you only remove it if you are also switching to obd1 injectors. if you were using obd0 injectors still then you simply leave the box as is. what obd0 the rest of the engine is doesn't matter.

the motor was previously switched to obd1 plugs, im pretty sure.
all that needed to be done was to change the plug for the injectors and the ecu to be repinned.
