Default struggling after stops DPFI wagon

i'm trying to get a DPFI auto wagon running right. it drives fine and idles ok. when going from brake to accel. after sitting at a stop it stubbles and misses like it wants to cut off. then it wakes up and drives (after you look like a fool who doesn't know how to drive...)

is there anything that fails frequently on these dual points that i should focus on? i've checked the usuals, spark gap, compression, condition of all the ignition components, ignition timing...

thanks for and help.

When was the last tune up? How are the:
- plugs
- wires
- fuel filter
- fuel pressure
- valve clearances
- timing
- fluid levels

Basically - what have you done so far to troubleshoot this?

the only questionable part of the ignition is the cap. but i'm thinking if that's no good it would make it run bad all the time. the issue only happens 50% of the time and only after a complete stop.

i checked the timing and it was good, missadjusted valves wouldn't be so intermittent, fuel pressure is something i should look at. i'll need to borrow a gage...

as for the fluids, trans fluid is low, but i don't keep auto trans fluid around so i couldn't top it off while i was checking it out. (all i own personally are manuals.) it does shift kind of hard... but do you think this could be related?

this happens in my crx a bit also, when i come to a stop sometimes the rpms go from 800-750 down to about 500 and the car shakes a little bit then it picks back up. after cleaning out my idle parts and intake value it got a little bit better but rarely i do still have these symptoms.
