Got some brake clean on my engine bearing

Default Got some brake clean on my engine bearing

i was cleaning the main bores with brake last night and i accidently got some on my main bearings. then i wiped it with a paper towel. Should i be ok? i need to know before assembling everything. or do i just need to buy a whole new set of bearings

i to am putting an engine together and am just ceroius if its ok if i got some brake clean on some rubber o-rings and seals.

also its a b20 will i be ok with gsr oil pump and water pump?
is there a gasket that goes in between the oil pump and water pump to the block?
are all oil pick ups the same besides bolt pattern?

Correction to the post above....


The oil pump from the b20 and B18C (obd2) are the same, in fact all obd2 b-series oil pumps are the same. If you use a pump from an obd1 motor it wont have a place to mount the crank tdc sensor if you are using it.
The water pumps are different however, one pump has 19 teeth and the other has 22. If you use and b20/LS water pump you will have to use a B20/LS timing belt, if you use a B16 or B18C water pump you will have to use a B18C timing belt.

There is a small o-ring that goes between the oil pump and block. and there is also a rubber gasket that goes between the water pump and block. If you buy a water pump new it usually comes with this.

The oil pickups on the motors are different due to the crank girdle on the B18C.

Do not modify either of these items. You will easily bring too much oil pressure to your turbocharger. This is something i have seen several people do with not so go results. OEM oil flow is fine. Don't try to outhink the Honda engineers.
