why did you buy your 5th GEN or Honda in general
well bored as can be. have to love insomnia. LOL. and just for the sake of conversation just curious what made other people buy there car. obviously the poll cannot be too specific since there would have to be 100 options LOL.
I bought mine because as most people know Honda's in general are reliable and go forever. Plus at the price i got it at it was a pretty good deal even after the repairs i had/have to do. Now a days it is hard to get a good running used car that doesn't have a ton of problems when you are on a small budget. I had the option between a Civic and an no offense to anyone but just not feeling it as much. That has to do mainly with all the kids in my area who have one and now think they are now Drift Kings or Fast and Furious. So that right there narrowed it down for me. In my area not too many people do accords but you can't blink without seeing a civic. I always thought the 5th GEN accord look good and has enough get up and go to keep me satisfied... for now LOL
But what made me buy mine was the price and reliability mainly

I was looking for an Accord because of their supposed reliability. It just so happened that I found mine with 104k miles on it,and it was sold to me for $1800.I've ended up putting at least double of what it cost into it since I bought it over 2 1/2 years ago,due to the previous owner not knowing what the hell he was doing when he decided to mod it out.
sadly to say. 1st car from parents. lol but loving it. (if it didn't have so many miles on it and the suspension ride was smoother)
well that's one thing about Honda's in general that even with 200k miles on it the still run good. provided they are maintained properly. 300k miles in a Honda isn't uncommon
Don't feel bad man because mine is also my first car from my parents. Still have it today. just hit 155000. You can not kill the engine. The automatic tranny is a different story. killed 3 of them within 30k miles ): Another thing about them is you don't have to do much too make them look great.
I bought mine because I like the style. And also I had a baby on the way so I had to settle for the sedan. It's been very reliable. Got it way back in 1997 and 200xxx miles later I still love the car. The h22a swap was great addition. Overall I'd buy another 5th gen if given the opportunity

the 5th gen Accord was also my first car handed down from my 2 older brother who had used this car for their college life. (It's been in the family since it was new)
I like it because it's a perfect car for me. There's something about it that makes it timeless. The lines of the body, the grill, the lights, the design. I guess it's mostly about the looks. For a car going almost 12-15 years, I still think it looks nicer than most cars out there.
The other thing I like about it is its build quality. I have seen newer Accords, they now come with cheap plastic, crappy fabric. They just don't build it like the 5th gen anymore.

my 94 honda accord was given to me as a present for graduation....so in other words its my first car... i love it especially since its a stick.... but overall its a really good car.....reliable from point A to B....and so far i found out you can do alot with it.
I am impressed with their performance, reliability, availability of parts..
Not to mention I rape my motor every other day, and she likes it. (Has for a while anyway, might quit on me tomorrow for sayin that)
" 300k miles in a Honda isn't uncommon"
I have a 90 LX with 337,000 still on original suspension, and tranny. Replaced motor cause the guy I got it off of let it get so hot you COULD NOT get the head bolts loose. Considering how worn out it is; it rides and drives awesome! Better then some of the newer cars I have drove with 1/4 the mileage. (Serious) I also have a 92 EX which I just bought for 200$ that needs valves, with 170k. Real clean car(Nice paint+ clear coat, aluminum rims, SR, CD), I got a steal imo.
Not to rob the thread, but I can't make new threads yet...Anyone know if you have to grind the valves or lap them with compound to make them seat or is it just plug and play?

Ive got a 95 accord ex and love it. I bought it caus ei heard it was a reliable car and i loved the look of them. Its got 321000k on witch is around 200000 miles i think. Its been the best car ive owned it take s a beating and still runs great.
i originally bought mine to get back and forth to work..but then slowly started turning into a project, so i had to buy another daily lol

Always buy a bone stock car, or a car modded by someone who knew what the **** they were doing.
I'm on my 3rd 4th gen Accord. I like how they look, drive and can be modded to be pretty nice. This is my last one
This is probably my 3-4 car. I bought it at an auction for 2k in 07 with 100k on it, no dents, scraches or dings, I think it was garaged too long. I always wanted an accord because it just looks cool IMO, It's my daily driver but slowly becoming a project car... wheels, exhaust, stereo system, and tint are done now planning on paint and body kit.
i just bought a 97 accord wagon. im not new to the honda "scene". id have to say that options 12 3 4 and 8 is why i bought my wagon. price, reliability, performance, gas mileage and style. plus there is much potential for performance mods. ive always liked the accord wagon..and accords in general.
^^ true.
ive owned a crx, integra, and 2 civics. now my accord. theyve all been reliable and good on gas. they all looked good and had lots of potenital. plus i like that there are sited like honda tech that you can find help with engine problems.
