cleaning throttle body and iacv
rite now my lsvtec is idleing at 1.5k to 2k rpm when warmed up everytime i hit a stop light and so im going to clean my throttle body and iacv but first i got some questions...wen i spray inside the throttle body, is it ok that some of the fluids get inside the manifold and any tips into cleaning it...another thing do i have to replace the gasket for the iacv or can i just reuse it...
Is the CEL ON? Have you checked for an intake air or vacuum leak? Is the throttle cable adjusted too tightly?
Here's a link for cleaning the IACV. No need to replace the IACV rubber seal if it's not damaged.
Getting some carburetor cleaner into the IM is inevitable during the cleaning process. This may make it a little difficult to start the engine initially and it may also produce some smoke in the exhaust. This should not have any long term negative effects.
