Default cleaning throttle body and iacv

rite now my lsvtec is idleing at 1.5k to 2k rpm when warmed up everytime i hit a stop light and so im going to clean my throttle body and iacv but first i got some questions...wen i spray inside the throttle body, is it ok that some of the fluids get inside the manifold and any tips into cleaning it...another thing do i have to replace the gasket for the iacv or can i just reuse it...

If you have an FITV, you should clean it as well.

Is the CEL ON? Have you checked for an intake air or vacuum leak? Is the throttle cable adjusted too tightly?

Here's a link for cleaning the IACV. No need to replace the IACV rubber seal if it's not damaged.

Getting some carburetor cleaner into the IM is inevitable during the cleaning process. This may make it a little difficult to start the engine initially and it may also produce some smoke in the exhaust. This should not have any long term negative effects.

Yup your going in the right direction, if you clean it and everything and the problem still exsist, you may have a faulty iacv

yah i do have a cel on but its only to the second o2 and knock sensor...im about to convert to obd1 so im hoping that should get my cel off

carb/brake cleaner is the best becuase it wont harm internals.

yes your going the right way
getting it in your motor wont hurt it, just might be a lill hard at first start.
