Default tune up questions

alright i just picked up a 1991 prelude with the b20a5 in it. it has 173k on the motor. the shitty thing is the salve went the day i bought it so its in the shop til monday.. but i want to do the basics like the tune up now with plugs is there a better brand then another or is NGK a good one compaired to Bosh. also the wires whats a better brand to run... i am gonna do the fuel filer air filter but they dont really make a diffrence. now the only thing im gonna have the shop do after that is the master cyc. timing belt and water pump... anything eles beside the basic tuneup that i should look at.

Use NGK plugs and NGK wires. Use HONDA OEM fuel filter. Use HONDA OEM belts & pump.

Is it auto or stick?

OEM parts are typical to honda's specs. The tolerances are tighter and I would say out perform/last any after market product of similar design

Make sure you take care of the timing belt before anything and everything else is easy.

No No No. Do not buy parts at Autozone, except maybe clutches. You get HONDA parts at HONDA dealerships or warehouses.

Check out these places:
www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
www.slhondaparts.com
www.bernardiparts.com
www.hondapartscheap.com
www.hondapartsdeals.com

I also recommend a CAI with K&N filter.

Are you familiar with Oklahoma weather?

Your fear of the CAI isn't completely logical. It actually takes a lot to get water onto the filter, if you've installed it correctly. But an SRI is simpler.

You'd know better than anybody. If you go CAI than install a bypass filter. Simple as that.

you'll also want to do a full valve lash adjustment.
and when you do the tbelt, please please please set the ignition timing the correct way. there is a very specific method of doing it on obd1 hondas that practically nobody follows because they dont know any better, but preludes are affected by doing it wrong the most.
i created a writeup on how to do it on a 3g lude:
http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=250817

also, the standard NGK plugs are the best plugs for your motor by far
