Default side mirror housing replacement

Hi ! I am new to this forum, but not forums in general, anyway . I agreed to help a friend replace their passenger side mirror housing because theirs got broken on the corner. I have seen IPB's and it doesn't look too difficult , i was wondering if anyone has any specific instructions or helpful tips for the job , thanks . The car is a 2008 Honda accord EXL

I dont have specific instructions, but you can go to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and enter the year/make/model and click on mirror. It will show you a diagram or blueprint of the mirror and all the screws for it.

Hope that helps.

Is it the whole housing or just the housing cover (i.e. the cover is the same color as the rest ?of the car, and doesn't including the part attached to the mirror and electrical connections).

no , unfortunately it is the whole plastic housing that is black. fom looking at the part breakdowns , the painted cover should snap off after the internals are removed. Is there a special glue for the actually mirror? thanks for your time

The mirror is held with clips and adhesive. I'll try to pull up some info. and be back a little later.

Just a disclaimer first, this is for informational purposes only. Professional installation is recommended. You must assume the full risk if you decide to attempt this.

Be very careful when using the heat gun, as excess heat can damage some of the parts.
