duplicolor paint shop
i saw duplicolor paint shop paint at autozone and it looks kinda legit, its premixed and ready to be sprayed..
has anyone every used this stuff?
i realize its not going to be very good but im on a very strict budget and its easily accessible.
also, would it be possible to paint one part of the car at a time? (fenders, hood, bumper, etc.) and have it still match sense its pre mixed the same way in every can?

Well doing it that (one part at a time) way is the best way to paint a car. And if your on a tight budget then don't spend money on stuff your not sure of, just save up for a legit paint job in the future .
ok dude, you give me the same advice all the time. im not taking it somewhere to get painted, im doing in myself. im just trying to do research on different materials.
It doesn't cost that much to do it with "REAL" paint. Also, the best way to paint a car to match is walking the whole car.....Try shopping around and asking for stuff like standox and nason products. Here in Seattle you could get clear for 80 bucks. Around 500 bucks I could paint a car that wil shine for a long time. But then it depends on how low of a budget your on.
real low budget, like $250...
it doesnt have to look amazing, im in high school and i want to just fix some dents and repaint the car so that it doesnt rust and fall apart.

everyone has to start somewhere and i want to learn how to do it myself. taking it to a body shop wont teach me how to do body work at all.
I just tried duplicolor can spray on my fender and bumper. I think, after reading a few car painting books, you should be able to use duplicolor to make your car look decient. The two things I found challenging is (1) each can sprays out a lil differently, and you need to get used to it when you used up one can and start another. I had to get used to it almost everything I open up a new can. (2) I am renting and I don't have a garage, so I have to paint in the back yard; dust and such particles occationally show up and if you are lucky, it won't sitck. It just depends on how good you want your paint job to look. A lot of these are not noticable from a distance if you had a nice few layers of clear coat and buff it.
This, however, is assuming good surface prep; I didn't do that cuz my car was involoved in an accident, and I just bought new parts for cheep and that comes with primer on it. I'm going for the fender on the side of my car today cuz it's got some rust. let's see how the surface prep goes, I hope I'll get it just as nice.
Hope my long comments help somebody.

no people its a quart of paint that is sprayed through a gun. The paint comes premixed and its like $25 a quart and you can buy primer and clear as well thats premixed with hardener and everything else. They even sell a metallic clear. But to answer the question its nicer than a $50 job but it wont come out as good as a pro painted car.
^I know exactly what you're talking about. I would much much rather spray with the duplicolor paint then I would roll on 50 bucks worth of paint. I say go for it. I've never used it, but I would if I was working on a project like that. (I have different paint for my car.) If you're working on a budget, you should check out the restorationshop.com line up, I've bought from them before, and you can get like a gallon base and gallon clear kit for like 250 bucks, maybe you would be interested in something like that.
