vtec engagment
the story is, i bough a 00 ex coupe with a gsr swap running a 99 si ecu and vtec engaged nice and loud, then i swapped in into 98 ex with conversion harness to chipped p28 and the vtec is there but too quiet, the only sensor that isnt hooked up yet is IAT sensor which i dont think has anything to do with it, after the swap into the 98 ex i put on 7.5lb flywheel, and got rid of the cat so basicaly straight pipe. and before the swap it had ground wires hooked up EVERYWHERE and on the 98 ex i only have 1 to the tranny
any ideas what it could be?

so VTEC isn't loud enough for you? I would imagine that if it's actually working it would sound the same, granted your exhaust setup is different so that might have something to do with it. As long as it actually works I don't see what the problem is. You'll know when it kicks in especially with a B18. My D16 is noticeable enough but nothing like the DOHC motors difference in sound before and after VTEC.
dude.. get all those CELs fix.. one problem leads to another.. your IAT is a an important sensor.. your ecu will look at the Intake air temperature and do the adjustments.. fix all your CELs then it will pull harder.. also is your p28 chipped for DOHC?

Well if you're so concerned about sound, why did you get rid of the cat? Even if you could hear VTEC it would probably sound like **** because of the test pipe.
You really need to fix all the obvious problems before you go looking for more problems. Honda didn't put the check engine light in the gauge cluster for nothing...
