Another noob Q.
Whats the difference between a d16a1, d16a6, d16a8/9 and a d16z6?
Its all kind of confusing to me..

 

the cylinder heads are different, but mostly the same, the pistons are shaped differently in the z6

 

You should ask all these things in the same thread bud.

D16A1 - DOHC sometimes referenced to as the 'brown top', it's rated at 113hp and was found in the 3rd gen civic's and 1st gen Integra's.

D16A6 - SOHC found in the EX sedan, and SI civic/crx in the USDM market. Rated at 108hp.

D16A8 - DOHC black top, rated at around 125hp, found in all JDM EF Si's

D16A9 - Exactly the same as the D16A8 except without the catalytic converter. Rated at 130HP.

They're all non-vtec.

I would.. however, I cant really control when i think of of something i want to know.. isnt that kinda the point of a FORUM? To talk to ppl and ask Questions and get advice? If its a problem for you then move on to the next thread. I do appreciate the info tho. However it would nice with out the cynicism (courtesy of "wikipedia" ).

Well, this may be a noob thing to say, but i dont know how to search for **** like that yet, and im not going to go through 500 pages of threads to find info when i could ask a simple Q that no one HAS to answer. So in the words of my 2nd grade teacher "If you dont have anything nice to say... go **** a gopher hole."

Actually, i thought i did say it nicely. Though seeing i've been told to **** a gopher hole, i just want to add that there is a reason that there is 500 pages of threads to go through, it's because people don't search and instead, they spread every one of their questions over 5 threads instead of making one that is titled "I've got a few Q's".

Your only making it more difficult for yourself.

 

So youre telling me that in 500 threads the same Q hasnt been asked about 35 times?? Whats one more? Seriously man. Is it really that big of a deal that you need to act like douche? Just asnwer the Q or dont. If you dont feel like it and its too much time out of your day to reply.. just move on to the next one and let me get the answer im looking for. Im not lookin to start **** so if you dont wanna asnwer a thread that i post... dont! Its really quite simple..
