Default A Good OEM Strut?

ok i'm looking for a good OEM replacement Strut, i'm not going with a honda part this time, personally when it comes to suspsenion parts of these civics the honda parts are junk, the struts i have in my car now are starting to go already and they were only replaced a few weeks over a year ago and honda wont do anything for me seeing as its past the 1 year, anyway they will need to be replaced and i dont wanna go with the genuine honda part.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a good OEM replacement front strut for a 2001 Civic dx?

both are knocking. The Passenger side is pretty well leaked out already and the drivers side is starting. I had a friend of mine(whos also my mechanic) have a look and he confirmed what i already knew.

i bought the car used almost 3 years ago, i replaced the struts for the first time front and back at 80,000 km's, the front again a year ago at 100,000 and now i'm at 118,000 km's and the fronts are bad again.
the back are still good, turns out those were an aftermarket strut, and i have no idea the name because of the rust over the stamp and sticker already pealed off.
but i've learned my lesson on the honda struts, never again.

If I had an '01-02 Civic, I'd probably have Bilstein Sports on it. Some people feel that they ride harsh, but I prefer my cars a bit overdamped.

I'm partial to the Bilsteins over the Konis for this application because they are a complete strut including the body, rather than an insert that requires modifying the stock body. Much simpler to install.

id check out your local mechanic. Im sure they have a brand that they commonly use. I had the same problem and picked up some tokico blues and really like them. They are a bit stiffer than oe spec, but not much. Ride quality is still really good. Check ebay for them. I got mine for around $250-300 shipped. Just make sure if you look on ebay that you are getting legit tokicos. there are definatly a lot of frauds on there marketing crap under other reputable company's names.
