Default Speaker cracking when volume turned up

I have 2 6x9 mtx speakers, when I turn the volume up it cracks. It's not cracking like the speaker is blown, it sounds like the speakers are cutting in and out.

One of the wires, positive or negative, was un-hooked and hanging. I knew this, I was just too lazy to hook it back up. The other 6x9 still worked. Today I hooked it up and now it's cutting in and out. Any ideas?

Just want to add that I'm pretty sure the 1 speaker that was hooked up properly was going in and out as well. TBH I never turned the volume up high enough recently to remember. There might be a possibility that the bass vibration is knocking off one of the wires. That's something easy I can check tomorrow, but I really doubt it is.
