automatic jackson supercharged good or bad
planing to put a jackson racing supercharged on my 94 automatic integra. does anybody know if i will blow the automatic transmission if i do that. I'm doing this just to see how a automatic supercharged integra would feel like. sounds gay but it's worth a try.
having a supercharged automatic is better than a turbo automatic. If u plan on racing it itd proly be a good idea to have the tranny beefed up otherwise i dont see any big faults running a supercharger with and automatic. The only problem with an auto is that you loose a lot of power through the trans. Im not sure wats availible for honda trans but a shift kit and maybe a higher rpm stall torque converter will help with launches.
i don't think there is much available to upgrade a honda auto trans. You might want to consider a maual swap when yours breaks. The auto trans doesn't handle extra power well
A few years back I had a supercharger on my auto LS and it was pretty slow. The transmission eventually started to slip like crazy. I went manual and it still wasn't that impressive. I ended up going all motor instead. The JR manifold for the LS was poorly designed. If you really want to stay automatic you can get the JDM sir-g auto transmission and go LS-VTEC with a supercharger.
I second that motion.
You'll roast your transmission, even with a shift kit & torque converter.
Unless you're only pushing 6psi (with no intercooler) like most Jackson Hondas, at which point that supercharger is rendered utterly useless for all intents & purposes other than the sound.

automatics or worth it if built right... ever see those big bad track supra's on youtube that run 8's and 9's, most of those have automatic transmissions. also i know a guy running low 11's with a talon tsi with an automatic transmission - surely its not stock though..
I don't care what anyone says, but stock automatic LS's are faster than manual LS's in my experience, my friend has a 99 LS 5 speed and I have a 01 LS auto and i beat him everytime we raced when we were both stock, we tried 3 different drivers (one of them is about the best stick driver i've seen) and none could beat me, given i didn't win by a lot. Mines also a sedan and his is a coupe. Then we both got the same intake and i was still faster. I don't know, just what happened to me.
Modding an automatic is a waste of money to me imo.
Racing them is a joke too. But that's my 2cents.
Iwont lie, I had a auto teg as my first car, learnd a lot of mistakes that I shouldnt have done. sold the car for a 92 civic and did a b16a swap with every jdm piece possible. Inside + out and whole suspension as my first real car. Got bored and traded it. Now im back on the integra game with a 94 thundergrey rs 5 speed<3 kthanks.

If you want to rock the supercharger do it, but be warned that honda auto trans are notorious for not handling power upgrades and it will fry it.

automatics are faster then manual trannys, because manuals rely on the shifting ability of the driver. If you look at any REAL race car, or any car running high power, they are all automatics, autos handle power and torque better, are more reliable, and dont suffer from the drawbacks of a drivers inability to shift or human error. The real problem with taking an auto tranny from a regular old passenger car like an integra and a civic is the fact that they are not designed for racing, they are designed for fuel economy, the tranny logic programming is designed for this as well as the gearing.
That being said, theres a **** load of performance tranny shops that specialize in automatics, my buddy deals with one expressly in this area for all his cars cus they run autos. As long as you plan properly, and understand what your doing, autos are much faster then manuals in almost every situation. Back when i had my z24, we had something called the autotrans interceptor which was an inline adjustment system (all electronic) that raised the line pressure in the tranny to make it shift faster. In most situations it yielded a .5 second drop in 1/4 mile times and shifted faster then any manual transmission could. So keep that in mind
if your gonna boost go turbo on a any non vtec engine. Superchargers at least the jackson design increases low end power which is good cause of the lack of it on honda's, and vtec is what helps the high band power. SO just go turbo it would work so much better on an ls. And as for the tranny any boost whether from a turbo or a supercharger would eat an auto tranny and you'ld be gettin a new one every few months. SO get a manual conv. and turbo it.
Or if u have the money be different and build and all engine honda

auto are better for hardcore racing...
My boss has a 9 second buick t-type with a 2speed
My 88 turbo mustang had a 2 speed rossler
when your going that fast... or trying to make consistant times..auto is the way to go...period...as for small motor honda...manual let you " feel the drive " more
