painting quotes
Hey everyone. So I got some estimates on painting a fender and front bumper on a 2002 RSX. the paint is Premium White Pearl Tricoat NH-624P. The prices I got are in the 800-1000 dollar range. Does anyone know if that's about right.
Thanks

Tri-coats cost more expensive because it adds more material and more time to the paint process. So instead of just a base and clear you have a base, mid coat, and clear. Also with tri-coats, it is hard to match the ajoining panels. The painter will have to take the time and do a spray out to see how many coats of the mid coat he will need to do to make a match before spraying the actual parts. The mid coat is basically a translucent color. Kinda like kandy. To get an idea, the base is the actual color and the mid coat has the pearls and metallics in it. More or less of the mid coat will affect the overall color. That price is very fair. Anything less, I'd be worried about what kind of paint they're using and the quality of their work.
they did mention it would be hard to make the paint match and that its a flip of the coin. They also said they prefer to blend it in with the whole car but that's an extra like 700 dollars.they did not say anything about a spray out to see how many coats of the mid coat he will need to do a match before spraying the actual parts. thanks for your input
