I just bought a 88 crx hf and i plan to drag race it
My main question is how much do you think it weighs if it has no interior just a racing seat and dash, no fuel tank i am going to be running a fuel cell and an ls vtec. i wanted to see if anybody can tell me an approximate weight for the crx?

 

Well curb weight of a stock '88 HF is 1819 lbs. If I had to guess I'd say removing everything cept a seat and a fuel cell, depending on how big ~1600-1700 lbs or so. this is just a guess unless someone can chime in that has a completely gutted car like yours is going to be.

 

yeah i was thinking like 1750 lbs but i'm just guessing

 

Thats pretty much all you can do. The cars are already the base model, bumpers are light very little sound deadening etc.

 

what motor are you going to use? you'll add a lot of weight back with your swap. the hf has lighter axles and front spindles. are you going to keep the rear drum brakes?

 

bring it by my work... we can lift it with one of the forklifts equipped with a scale and find out.

 

where you located i'll probaly stop by when i get it running

 

i'm gonna throw an ls/vtec in it and it has rear disc brakes
