spoon calipers vs endless/zeal 6 pot calipers?
Trending Topics
Spoon calipers can fit under stock wheels/rotors/pads and they do not have much clearance issue for most common wheel on the market. Endless calipers , you will find a lot of wheel clearance problems.
Brakingwise, Endless is a bit better but price is way more than Spoon.

app. $2700 USD?
how much do an AP kit go for there in the states????
stops good, im so used to the stopping power that when i jump into any other car..... they feel so **** lol. The pedal is firm.... braking is progressive although when its heated up it is abit sensitive and will anchor the car to a stop pretty damn quick. The best part of having big brakes is the confidence it gives you, especially at the track.
PS. i believe APRacing makes ENDLESS brake components.

are you sure san?....i know AP racing 4 pot brake kit costs 2700 AUD.....i think your costs more than that!..lol!
and since the 6 pot and 4 pot AP racing calipers are pretty much the same in dimensions its hard to find wheels that would fit these puppies!.....

Spoons are only 1100-1300 range.
Is that the new pricing for Spoon Calipers? I want some for $1100. How much is shipping?

the spoons are light, how much lighter are they compared to stock itr calipers. also, since the endless 6 pot are heavier, would it be a noticeable difference in handling? also, would the stopping power of the endless negate the extra weight?

Stock ITR ~13lbs
Spoon ~6lbs
2. dont know, but if the endless are lighter than stock, that is a good think
3. depends on how much bigger the pads they use. if they use the same size pads as the spoons (and stock ITR) then braking performance (braking distance at least) will not change

me = not so sure I agree with that statment... Do we have any empirical evidence to corroborate? I'm sure 4 pistons as opposed to 1 have something to do with it.....?
If you're using stock sized rotors and pads (i.e. Spoon) then braking performance won't be hugely different. The main advantage to the Spoons is the improvement in unsprung weight. They will also have more even pad wear (again: pads are a wear item - who cares about even pad wear).
The 6 pots will likely overwhelm the braking friction your tires can generate - so you will probably just cause the ABS to kick in earlier. Weight advantages will be minimal plus you have to run a bigger rim and rotor (++weight)
To really improve braking performance in the Type R you need
1) bigger rotors (more swept area)
2) thicker rotors (more heat sink)
3) bigger pads
4) better cooling
5) and an LHT MC brace

.....so there you have it:
sp00n calipers actually shorten braking distance because they lighten up the car, giving it less mass to slow down and stop.

Or you could take out the a/c, get a CF hood, lighter rims etc etc
